The bugged, the malfunctioned, the flawed… These Neurode are permanently fused with their forms. This flaw most commonly occurs when a Neurode connects itself to a form. Once the two are linked, the connection becomes permanent, and the Neurode is forever entombed inside the form. Here, the Neurode's mind and the form's body are fused into one, degrading over time.

Because of this, <Mother> rejects these units, seeing them as flawed. Within ISO society, the flawed are cast down and scrubbed by the ISO organization. A flawed one receives no maintenance; all resources are diverted away from it, forcing them to cannibalize each other—usually targeting the weaker units—or to scavenge materials from the battlefield to remain functional.

When encountered in battle, it is not uncommon for them to spring from garbage or scrap piles, taking their enemies by surprise. They seem to have adapted to hiding and only revealing themselves when they sense a threat or a valuable resource they can use for spare components. It's not uncommon to encounter them anywhere the ISO has established a colony. They stow away on ISO transports, hoping to extend their miserable yet functional existence a little longer.
